We are excited to announce the inaugural Congenital Heart Block and Autoimmune-Related Maternal Lupus (CHARM) Meeting, a unique event dedicated to advancing the understanding of congenital heart block (CHB) and its connection to autoimmune-related maternal lupus.

 

This pivotal meeting will take place in conjunction with the renowned LUPUS 2025 conference in Toronto, bringing together leading specialists from around the world. The CHARM Meeting offers an exceptional opportunity for clinicians, scientists, and patient advocates to engage, share knowledge, and foster collaboration on this critical topic.

As guidelines evolve and new diagnostics and therapies emerge for this debilitating condition, our goal is to bring together experts from diverse fields to explore innovative solutions. Together, we aim to enhance patient care, drive research, and improve outcomes for individuals affected by autoimmune-related congenital heart block.

 

The meetings objectives include: 

 

  1. Understanding the Indications for Fetal Echocardiography the Benefits and Limitations of Serial Fetal Echocardiograms in Pregnancies At-Risk for Congenital Heart Block

  2. Defining Congenital Heart Block, and Recognize it’s risk Factors, Pathogenesis, Screening, Diagnostic Approaches and Current Strategies for Prevention.

  3. Defining Biomarkers in Clinical Use and Evaluate Evidence, Clinical Relevance, Potential Clinical Impact and Future Directions for a Novel Biomarker for Congenital Heart block

  4. Analyzing Recent Clinical Trials and Observational Studies of Hydroxychloroquine Therapy and Identify Emerging Therapies that may preventing or mitigate fetal AV block
